All IKEA products are based on IKEA's own philosophy Democratic design. Which means that the products must meet standards of form, function, quality and sustainability at a low price. The brief was about explaining this in a new way on ikea.com without mentioning Democratic design. We created the concept IKEA IS where we boiled down the components of democratic design to their essence and let it permeate the entire communication.
